about

This song started off as a remix to "My Fire," from our first album. I was working on it while on tour with another group, and all I had was my laptop, bass and my Way Huge Swollen Pickle fuzz pedal (which can be heard in the second half of the verse before the solos). The turning point was when I started messing around with the chorus chords as a build up to the drop, and then it became a song and not a remix. The chant in the chorus was the first thing I wrote. I sat with it for a few months and then came up with the verse. It works really well as an action packed opener, and I'm so stoked with how it turned out.

lyrics

Stop calling me up in the middle ofthe night

to redeem yourself and make it all feel right

I ain't a one-stop-shop or some kind of animal

Instead of talking to me, you should be living your life

put on your best outfit and go dance tonight

'cause you might be surprised by the time that passed you by

'Cause I've been around the world, and it sure ain't what you think it is

Baby it's because ofthe American mold

Go get a one way ticket toward a place that you ain't never been before

You gotta man up to reach your goals

Quit complaining to me, you should heed my advice

you gotta let me go, get ahold of your life

I’ll tell you one last thing before you leave tonight

I will never let you forget me, for your whole life I’ll be your best memory

'Cause it's been plenty of time now see how

I’m moving on and you got your head up in the clouds

Stop calling me up in the middle of the night,

you need to get a new life so you can get outta mine (Hey)

(Get in line boy)

I will never let you forget me

(Alright, alright)

Stop calling me up in the middle of the night,

you need to get a new life so you can get outta mine (4x)

I will never let you forget me, for your whole life I’ll be your best memory

'Cause it's been plenty of time now see how

you're the only one here that’s freakin' out

I’m moving on and you got your head up in the clouds

I will never let you forget me
