about
This song is lyrically very special to me. I wrote this one before we recorded it so that the melody would stand on its own and work in really well with the production. It's about the way you feel when you want to give someone more but, because of one thing or another, you can't really get ahold of yourself and just let them in. Beautiful strings plus a very cool beat after the first chorus, and there it is. The epic fuzz tone toward the end comes from the MXR Sub Machine- a double octave fuzz.
lyrics
Never been the type of girl that’d give her soul to the world
Never had a reason to before I had you
Paid the price in the past, so many loves that didn't last
Tryin'a own up to my feelings face to face
I'm not weak, but you made me stronger
I'm not cold, but you keep me warm
I'm not lost, but you give me purpose
Finally you can make me whole, change my world tonight
Getting tired of this static heart
To let you in is the hardest part
You're the light and I'm in the dark
Say goodbye to my static heart (2x)
Your love’s the reason that I'm here,
I haven't chased myself away
You give me words for all the things I thought that I could never say
I know I'm hard to understand, you know I'm standing on the edge
See the colors start to fade, and just the two of us remain
I'm not weak, but you made me stronger
I'm not cold, but you keep me warm
I'm not lost, but you give me purpose
Finally you can make me whole, change my world tonight
Getting tired of this static heart
To let you in is the hardest part
You're the light and I'm in the dark
Say goodbye to my static heart
Getting tired of this static heart
To let you in is the hardest part
Take my hand, we can hit restart
Say goodbye to my static heart (2x)

This album is indicative of the high level of musicianship and creativity of this band. It starts with the catchy party down, jam, Break Me Free, and continues through some of the bands deepest, soul searching cuts. These guys put on an amazing show for sure and these songs are phenomenal live, but just as well this recording is exceptionally well executed. Jesse Cyr

Great from beginning to end. I had the fortunate opportunity to hear her & the band ‘Live’ last week & they are even better in person. Simply the best performance I have witnessed in a long time. Love this project!!! Tracy Malafarina
